Stay away from Talkspace
I loved my therapist, but a glitch in their system decided I don’t have insurance coverage (I do and confirmed twice with my insurer that nothing has changed), and they started cancelling my appointments. After 3 weeks of cancelled appointments and no help at all from their support staff (they stopped responding to my emails a week ago and they do not have any other way to reach them for help!), I am leaving their service. I do not recommend Talkspace and will spread the word on my experience.

Says insurance cannot be verified
- I randomly received a message that my insurance expired and I needed to update my insurance. I confirmed with my insurance that it did not expire and the sessions through Talkspace were still covered however I couldn’t get it verified through the Talkspace app. Talkspace does not have a phone number to call and you have to submit tickets. No response after 2 weeks and now my daughter is having the same issue with no response or resolution. We have a great
provider that we don’t want to lose but the platform is not helping at all! Date of experience: November 15, 2023

The worst experience of my life.
The worst experience of my life.
- I did not feel comfortable with the psychologist that I was originally assigned to, she lacked in listening skills, she put false information on my medical record, she tried forcing prescription medication on me. I was able to get in touch with Customer Service, but my needs/concerns have yet been addressed and it’s been over 12 days since I reached out to get those concerns addressed. - Teen counseling has been a tremendous help with my son. My son had tried a couple of different therapist but never felt like he was getting through to any of them. My son looks forward to talking with Rev. John Reid every week! He connected with him immediately which was not expected. We have nothing but positive things to say about my son’s therapy sessions. Grateful for services like this!
- We signed our son up for therapy sessions in June bc trying to find an in person therapist proved difficult. The demand is super high in our area. So we took a chance w BetterHelp and Teen Counseling and am so glad we did. So. We didn’t take the first person paired with him. It didn’t feel like a good fit. We searched thru all the available therapists to find the right match for him. So my advice to anyone signing up, don’t be afraid to search and find another therapist to work with. And trust your gut. I appreciate that our therapist worked in 30 min sessions w him too at first. He can only take so much chatting and really needed to build up rapport w her bf jumping to an hour. He also chose over the phone instead of video call. Again-having that choice gave him some control. We have noticed a big difference in his attitude how he handles difficult situations. Sure he still has his moments but overall Kelly has made a huge difference for him. My only con is that they do not take health insurance. So at nearly $400 it is super expensive but his mental health is worth it. Date of experience: July 17, 2023

Convenient and Adaptable!
- I have found BetterHelp to really fit in with my busy lifestyle over the past few years. It is easy to switch therapists if the match isn’t great. Also, as a full time student with a part time job and other extracurriculars, it gives me the flexibility to have a session on the go in a park for cafe or library corner so I can always fit my sessions in and not miss due to other commitments. I even fit one in during a staff beach event! I recommend to everyone. Date of experience: November 28, 2023

Unproductive Visit
- Just don’t feel the visit was productive at all. What I feel is a sinus infection, was discounted as Covid as my wife is 8 days into a positive Covid test result. I have tested negative twice now. I understand the Dr was following some guidelines as it relates to antibiotics but I am traveling out of the country and really wanted to get a handle on this sinus infection before I go. I was prescribed two nasal sprays that I’ve tried in the past to no avail. I just feel yesterdays visit
was a complete waste of time and money. Date of experience: November 27, 2023

Not Well..Amwell
- On the advice of United Healthcare Nurseline, I turned to Amwell telehealth services to treat my sinus infection. After calling their published enrollment number I completed my information by phone for a remote physician visit. Then the problem began. I was told that I was next in line for a physician call. I waited over an hour. After 3 more hours, 5 phone calls, online app requests, I never received a call. The app kept spinning and nothing happened. After speaking with an agent who stayed on the phone with me for over 30 minutes waiting for a doctor who was supposed to be available immediately we gave up. By that time all.my regular options were exhausted because it was too late to see anyone in their office. I wasted time and now I am worse and will visit my primary care provider in his office today, delaying my treatment. I do not recommend Amwell. Date of experience: October 15, 2023

My appointment was on Sept.14, 2023
- My appointment was on Sept. 14, 2023, and I waited on purpose to write this review. This was the absolute worst doctor experience I’ve ever had. Amwell was recommended by my insurance. I had a sinus infection, vertigo, sore throat, earache and a reoccurring fever. I waited in the doctor’s waiting room I choose for 15 minutes. I was switch at the last minute to a different doctor. I was too ill to care. The doctor prescribed me three nasal sprays which two I had. He would
not listen to me regarding my history and said I would start feeling better over the next couple of days. The Visit lasted for 10 minutes, and the screen went blank. My pharmacy never received the prescription. I received a follow up survey and I let them have it. Long story short I ended up getting five prescriptions (only 1 nasal spray). Amwell never reached out to me. Don’t waste your money or time with AMWELL. Date of experience: September 14, 2023

- I’ve made a commitment this year to become the better me. And, as part of that commitment, I decided to try out therapy for the first time. Honestly? I am a bit skeptical when people online talk about something so much, always feels like it’s just hype and too good to be true. But therapy, and calmery specificaly, exceeded all my expectations! It’s very fun and simple to use, I can chat and zoom with my therapist and there are also a lot of things I can do between the sessions! The way to track progress is a fun thing, almost like Duolingo streaks lol! I don’t have much to compare to, but Calmery has been a great and easy experience for a newcomer into therapy. We are Open Path Tutoring Super Fans!
- We had a phenomenal experience with Open Path Tutoring! Danny was very responsive to all of our questions, from scheduling to logistics to content. Every step of the way was incredibly easy, and once we had the schedule set up, Danny’s sessions were fantastic. My son’s feedback about working with Danny includes that he is very efficient with his time while still being friendly and easy to talk to. He really liked Danny’s unique system to help identify and
target the areas he needed the most work on, and he really appreciated Danny’s skill at helping him refresh his knowledge in those areas. His favorite part of working with Danny was how encouraging and supportive Danny was, every step of the way. I can vouch for this encouragement because Danny checked in both before his SAT tests with great advice about how to manage the night before and day of testing, and also after the tests to hear how my son felt about his test. From start to finish, Danny and Open Path Tutoring exceeded all of our expectations and my only regret was that we didn’t start working with him much earlier in the process so we could have had more time with him! Danny is Wonderful!
- Danny was an amazing help to my son! He was exactly what I was hoping for guiding Henry through standardized testing best strategies and practices. His demeanor was patient but firm and he easily recognized areas wherein Henry needed to concentrate most to raise performance. Because they tutored remotely, I was most impressed with Danny proactively sending technology items to Henry so that their remote communication could be best synchronized. Specifically, the piece of equipment allowed Danny to watch real-time as Henry worked through math problems. Danny was flexible and accommodating with scheduling, and communicated important feedback with me as Henry moved through his tutoring. Danny helped raise my son’s test scores CONSIDERABLY and it was very much worth the price and time investment. My son worked with Danny during the second semester of his Junior high school year and through the summer before his Senior year. January 2022-August 2022. Date of experience: August 27, 2022

So thankful for his guidance
- Just so thankful for the guidance and help provided by Danny. My son had taken his ACT several times and was at a plateau. He had taken ACT prep classes from other programs but could never make any improvement. Danny took the time to review his strengths and weaknesses. He found that reading was a difficulty and found a speed reading program to help my son. They met several times per week and he assigned the work. I am thrilled and grateful to say that his score increased 5 points and he beat his own goal. Danny set the plan and helped guide based on his knowledge of the test. If your child follows the plan and does the work, then they will be successful. Would highly recommend Open Path to anyone needing tutoring. Date of experience: July 28, 2022

Dr. Maricelina Caro - Dr. Maricelina Caro is cold, unfeeling and rude. She didn’t listen to a word I said. She said that I couldn’t be helped through their service and turned me away even though I said that I was having suicidal thoughts. I do NOT recommend this service to anyone. Quick, helpful, and covered by insurance
- I’m really surprised by the negative reviews. Brightside works with my insurance provider (Aetna), so I enrolled after months of having trouble getting an in-person visit locally. Brightside has significantly improved my quality of life and my outlook on the future and I cannot understate that. I am so grateful.

Easy service to use, but keep a close eye on your billing!
- Finding a therapist OT psychiatrist was very easy, and they take most insurance plans. My only issue is they can be redicuously expensive. I meet with my psychiatrist once every few months to check in on how my meds for ADHD are working. Last call was 27 minutes. Was charge $105 for call (fine with it), and was charged an additional $166 facility fee? It was a virtual call, and this is a bogus charge. Customer service fought me on the second charge for two days. Then dropped the $105 fee, but are still charging me a $166 facility fee. Their billing fees scammy at best. Legit psychiatrist though.

My experience with Talkiatry has been…
- My experience with Talkiatry has been excellent, with the exception of a tech hiccup that could have been my network or theirs. Regardless, the tech called me within minutes to get me connected with my provider ASAP. My provider is knowledgeable and is treating me for symptoms that a prior physician told me weren’t possible (male doc told me that I couldn’t have ADHD because I did well in school. That’s not how that works with women, dude.) I highly recommend Talkiatry if your schedule or availability of providers makes in person services difficult.
