I recently moved to Brooklyn

• I recently moved to Brooklyn, NY, from Los Angeles for a job relocation. It was a company paid move and they chose International Van Lines for me. However, I was very happy with the service they offered. They were very professional during the quoting process. We did a virtual tour, and within a few minutes, they gave me a binding moving rate, which was guaranteed and included everything like packing and storage for a month. They ended up sending four movers out, which got the job done within a few hours. Once I settled in a new place, I called the office to arrange for delivery. It took about 8 days from Los Angeles to New York. The delivery team also did a great job. They set up all of our furniture and placed everything where it needed go. I had no damages or loss on any of my stuff and did not have to use the insurance. I would work with them again, for sure. Date of experience: November 01, 2023

• I recently moved to Florida for a new job opportunity. My company gave me an allowance, so I decided on IVL since they are highly rated. The process with IVL was pretty easy. Getting a quote took only a few minutes, and they offered me a binding rate, which I liked. I wanted to avoid being surprised with the cost of the move. The moving guys did a really good job packing all my stuff and getting everything loaded. They worked hard, looked presentable and got my stuff to it’s destination in a few days. My overall experience with IVL was good. We had no noticeable issues worth mentioning, and I would choose them again as a moving company if I had to. We used North American several times…

• We used North American several times with excellent results. However, the move across country through Beltmann Group, NJ was a disaster. They “lost” 4 large paintings and damaged a number of items. Because items were in storage, we were not able to claim and Beltmann/North American’s so called search did not located the lost items. Obviously, we will never use them again. If you like what you own use someone else.

• I had United Van Lines contracted for a move from my homestead Texas to Georgia. My belongings were put into storage while I looked for a home in Ga. When the day came for delivery of my things none of the items that were in my barn in Texas arrived. I was also missing a few items from inside of the house. And my wife heirloom baby grand piano and antique rocking horse were damaged. In total there was about $10,000 in missing/damaged items. When I filed the claim for these items they issued me a check for less than $500… Less than 5% of what they lost/damaged. Date of experience: November 26, 2023

• I recently moved from Atlanta to New York City and could not have been more pleased. Because I was on a budget, I packed my own boxes and they labeled them accordingly. Nothing was lost, stolen, or otherwise damaged. My furniture and things that could not be boxed were wrapped in blankets and handled carefully. The movers showed up on time both to pick up my things and to drop them off. Because I was moving into an apartment building with specific service elevator hours and scheduling, Mayflower was able to have an exact delivery date which was very important to me. While unpacking my crate on the street, none of my boxes were left unattended or out of eyesight. The movers were professional and efficient. After reading the horror stories on this review website I was extremely nervous about my experience, but I could not be more pleased. I would definitely recommend them and use them again in the future.

• The pricing for our move was estimated at a certain amount, and I was told that if the weight went up or down the pricing would be adjusted accordingly. When the movers weighted our stuff, it turned out it was about 10% less than originally estimated. A couple days after, when I got my invoice, the pricing hadn’t been adjusted to reflect the actual weight so I called our booking person but he insisted that I needed to pay the full estimated amount because he couldn’t do anything and that Atlas Van Lines corp would have to make the adjustments after the fact. I told him that didn’t make any sense and I believe he needed to adjust my final invoice before paying, but Tim refused and assured me that this is how things work and he would make sure everything would be adjusted after and I could reach out to him at any time. After the delivery of our furniture, I called Atlas Van Lines to ask about the adjustment and they told me that Tim from ** of California had to adjust the final invoice before I made my final payment. So now Tim **** is not answering my calls and Atlas Van Lines keeps saying that they don’t know what is happening and that they will need time to sort things out. What a joke and fraud. Avoid this business because apparently is common practice to lie to their clients and overcharge.
